As a passion project, I wrote a field guide to surviving New York City — through the eyes of someone born and bred there. It’s equal parts love letter and reality check.
New York doesn’t come with instructions. So I made some. This isn’t a guide to the best of the city like most guides are. It’s a guide to getting through it.
The subway is less of a system and more of a test. If you hesitate, you lose.
Awareness isn’t optional. It’s survival.
Eat fast. Order faster.
It’s loud. It’s crowded. It’s a lot. And somehow, it works. You become someone who can handle it.
